I’m so excited I couldn’t wait to write this one!
So, I was browsing on FeelUnique.com the other day and discovered that if you type ‘Vegan’ in the search bar, you get a LOT of results. Intrigued, I pressed on and came across this mineral foundation by Lily Lolo, a company which, whilst not completely animal-ingredient free (avoid lipstick, gloss and blushers), sells many vegan products and is BUAV approved meaning they do not test on animals. They’re also a UK based company and their products aren’t ridiculously expensive either!
I have actually never tried a mineral foundation before despite hearing good things about them as I tend to get quite dry skin sometimes on my face and felt that a ‘powder’ just wouldn’t do the job for me. I was wrong. Previously, I have used Estee Lauder foundations amongst some others, which were good, but did not come cheap. At around £13 a pop, Lily Lolo’s range is much more affordable and, dare I say, kicks the ASS off of all other foundations I have tried. Really.
To apply, I used this powder brush from Superdrug’s ‘B’ Range which is really soft and fluffy and, of course, suitable for vegans as it is made from 100% synthetic materials.
I applied as directed, using circular motions with very little product on the brush. I really like how you can tailor the level of coverage it provides from very little to a LOT without it caking or looking powdery or obvious. This tutorial video from their website was useful for first-timers like me:
I really am in love with this product – thanks Lily Lolo, total game-changer!
